Robotic cell for silicone dispensing and glass mounting

The Challenge

The client was carrying out the silicone dispensing and glass mounting process manually or semi-automatically, generating a range of quality and productivity issues.

  • Low process repeatability — variations in material application resulting from operator-to-operator differences
  • Risk of quality defects — uneven silicone dispensing and assembly errors
  • Limited throughput — process dependent on the pace of individual operators
  • Lack of production flexibility — difficulty handling different product variants

The client needed a solution that would automate the process, stabilise quality and increase production throughput.

The Solution

We designed and implemented an automated production station integrating conveyor systems, component positioning, a dispensing unit, safety devices and two robots. The cell also generates reports containing the most important production data.
